5 Ways to Add Value to All Your Presentations
Most speakers have great intentions of offering value to their audience. The challenge for many is that they try to offer too much content with very little substance, which only confuses their audience. Speakers may share touching stories but the stories have no correlation to their message, or they have no stories at all and simply bore the audience with facts and figures.
Some speakers spend their entire presentation pitching their product or service, offering no value at all. Audiences are seeking a message of hope, words of wisdom, and as speakers we should offer these with a specific action-step to help them better their lives.
A World Class Speaker knows that every audience will have the following thoughts on their minds: “So what! Who cares? What’s in it for me?” We speak to create change in others, and whether you’re a keynote speaker or business professional, incorporating at least four if not all five pieces of the PARTS formula will help you create compelling content, avoid data dumping, and offer value to your audience.
The PARTS Formula broken down into an acronym P A R T S Point – Anchor-Reflection-Technique-Sale Is Designed to Help you:
Get your Point across; you should try to achieve this in a short sentence
Anchor your message; An anchor is anything that helps your audience remember your points, and there are four to choose from.
Create change through Reflection; help your audience reflect on their current situation and assist them in change
Apply Techniques for calls to action: A technique is the “do differently” to help them walk a different path.
Sale – Sell an idea, product, or service; without sounding like a sales pitch
Action Step: Incorporating at least 4 if not all 5 of the PARTS formula will help you avoid sounding like a sales pitch and will help you increase sales effortlessly.
